Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan
There was a time when you and I went to school to study A for apple, B for Boy and H for Hen.
If reports are to be believed this is going to change now. With even two years old kids watching and being addicted to Bollywood, the text of primary classes are going to be changed to A for Aishwarya and H for Hrithik, According to the books being taught in some of the private schools, A stands for Aishwarya and H stands for Hrithik.
Though, the people, who wrote those text books probably were of the view that by making them indentify with Aishwarya and Hrithik, they are making it easy for the small kids to remember, but the whole concept seems to have backfired. Some people including some of the senior politicians of the country are said to be highly upset over the move. This became evident when BJP’s Kalraj Mishra brought up the matter in Rajya Sabha and asked the government to enforce strict regulation to control “confusing publications” brought out by private publishers for children.
Mr. Misra also urged the government to increase the printing and supply of regular NCERT books so that private schools cannot find any excuse to bring any other kind of books to use, which according to Mr. Misra are pirated.
Even though it may be easy for small kids to remember A for Aishwarya and H for Hrithik, keeping in mind the value based education, which our schools and parents seem to stress on, it may not be long before there are no takers for them and these new textbooks are out of the market.
