Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif
The second half of 2010 may see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Katrina Kaif competing with each other.
There is no need for anyone to say it in words because Box office records are themselves enough indications to prove that whereas the last two years are concerned, it is Katrina Kaif, who has been ruling the Hindi Film Industry with films like Race, Singh Is King, New York and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Though Katrina may not want much to change this year with her upcoming films Raajneeti and Tees Maar Khan, which are due to release later this year, analysts say that she may face some tough competition from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Interestingly, both Aishwaya and Katrina are expected to have three major releases this year. Whereas Katrina is counting on Raajneeti, Tees Maar Khan and a film directed by Zoya Akhtar, she may meet with stiff competition from films like Ravana, Guzaarish and Action Replay, all of which will have Aishwarya in the female lead.
In fact, for both Aishwarya and Katrina, the success of these films mean much more than ensuring, who does better in Bollywood. Reports suggest Katrina is eyeing on projects like L’Oreal and hopes that if her films do good business in days to come, she might replace Aishwaya as model for international beauty products company. On the other hand, it is no secret that Aishwarya cherishes her association with L’Oreal and wants to continue her contract with the company.
It seems with big films of these two lead ladies of Bollywood releasing in the second half of 2010, both will be competing with each other for the top slot in the industry. And along with the top spot, the two have a lot more on stake. Let us see who among the two proves to be better.
