Akshay Kumar
There is a strange concept in Japanese philosophy, which says that when everything comes to a halt due to a strike, you need to work extra hard. The philosophy says that if for example, you manufacture shirts, during the period of strike, make as many collars as you can, so that when the strike is called off, the collars serve as a motivation for you to complete the shirts.
It seems Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has take this Japanese concept much too seriously.
At a time when most Bollywood actors are taking it easy and have even gone off on a holiday due to the release of films being delayed as a result of the ongoing conflict between producers and multiplex owners, Akshay Kumar is trying that extra hard at work.
Akshay spent the entire month of May shooting for two of his forthcoming films Priyadarshan’s Dan Dana Dan and Vipul Shah’s Action Replay. Along with this, Akshay will soon start shooting for Sajid Khan’s Houseful. All the three are big films with Crore’s of Rupees at stake. Akshay feels that this is the right time for the industry to put in that extra effort and create a pool of films, so that when the strike ends, Bollywood is ready to serve that extra bit to its fans.
In real world though, there may not be too many takers for Akshay’s philosophy. With too many big banner and big budgeted films due for release, producers and distributors are already in a fix as to whether the audience’s pocket can afford to shell out that much money to see all the films. Keeping this in mind, many producers, who were planning to release their films at the end of 2009, have already shifted their date of release to 2010.
So, take it easy Akshay. You may create a pool of films as you want to, but there is no use if they stay in the box or go back to the box after release because due to overdose people fail to watch and appreciate any of these films.
