Much has been said and written about the remark made by Sonam Kapoor about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, when she was reportedly asked why she was signed as the ambassador of a cosmetic company L’Oreal, when Aishwarya was already endorsing the products of the company.
If the remarks by Sonam for just one actress gave rise to so many problems for her, think what could have happened if she had used those words for not one but five actresses of this industry.
No, it is not as if Sonam has made the same mistake two times, but this time the mistake has been made by Ameesha Patel.
Ameesha, whose career isn’t going too well off late, felt highly insulted and offended recently when a well-known journalist, in one of his article, included her name in a list of those female leads, who started off their Bollywood career with a bang but haven’t been doing too well off late.
Not understanding the essence of the message that the journalist wanted to convey through his article Ameesha said, “Its wrong to compare me with the likes of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee. They all started their career in 90’s, when I was not even around.”
But unlike Sonam Kapoor, Ameesha has not wasted too much time to clarify her stand. She says, “These are all senior artists whom I respect a lot.”
Probably what Ameesha wanted to say was that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kajol, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee have got much more time to prove themselves, therefore its not right in any way to compare her with any of them.
Hopefully all the lead actresses mentioned by Ameesha will understand the essence of what she wanted to say and the issue will be put to rest once and for all.
Though Ameesha agrees that she can be compared with Kareena, the journalist, like the rest of the world has no interest in doing so. He also knows that after 9 years in the industry, where as kareena stands at the top today, Ameesha is not even in the first 10.
