Arjun Rampal has opted out of Don2.
After playing a key character in Don, Arjun Rampal has opted out of Don2 because of his alleged differences with Farhan Akhtar, the producer-director of the film.
Reports suggest that the actor opted out of the role after he had difference with the director over the way his character needs to be portrayed in the proposed sequel of Don, which Farhan wants to direct in days to come. Both Arjun and Farhan are said to have discussed the matter and decided that the important character played by Arjun in the first film will now be played by a new actor in the sequel.
Arjun’s decision to not do the sequel is a big blow to Farhan because keeping in mind the kind of appreciation Arjun had received for his work in the first film, Farhan was expected to give him a prominent role in sequel. But that was not to be. If fact, the film was a big achievement for Arjun as his performance in the film was compared with that of legendary Pran, who played the same role in the original film starring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role.
Although, Farhan and Arjun have decided to part ways professionally, with Arjun not working in Don2, but the two have said that they will still be friends.
After Arjun decided to opt out of the film, Farhan is now looking for someone who can portray this role in Don2 with the same conviction as Arjun.
