Abhishek, Aishwarya, Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan
The Bachchan family will skip holi celebration this year too. They have cited two causes. First dear friend Amar Sing’s close relative has died. Secondly due to Pune blast where 17 people had died.
Amitabh Bachchan wished happy holi to his readers on his blog. He said, "My wishes and those of my family remain, however, with those that do bring in this festival, a festival that fills us with the joy of achievement and change and produce." He further said, "Happy Holi! And may the colours bright and beautiful ever remain with you in celebration. May it bring peace and calm and may it become the turning point for good tidings."
He explained about non celebration of Holi, "We do not celebrate again this year. Primarily because of the death of a close relative of our family friend Amar Singhji, but also we do not feel comfortable in celebrating when our own have lost lives in the Pune blast recently."
They didn’t celebrate Holi last year due to 26/11 attacks. They also skipped the festival in 2008, because of the death of her mother Teji Bachchan.
