Rani Mukherjee
Rani Mukherjee says Bollywood helps in understanding India.
Rani Mukerjee, who is in Australia these days promoting Indian and its diversified culture says that Bollywood movies help to understand the country in a better manner. Rani added that the Hindi movies can also help in promoting better Indian ties with other countries.
Rani, whose films like Black and Dil Bole Hadippa are being showcased as a film festival in Australian city of Sydney, said she hopes that just as her film Black proved to be an eye opener in India, educating common men about disability and the condition of deafblind, the festival of her films in Australia would help to teach a thing or two about India, its culture and its people.
Rani’s comments are important keeping in mind that in recent past, students of Indian origin have been attacked in Australia. Even Rani wasn’t spared from asking about this issue. When asked, Rani said she would be very keen on doing a movie on racial discrimination if she is offered any such role in the future.
All Indians including Rani must be hoping that her films leave an impression on the mind of people and people not only understand India and Indian culture but also help in normalizing relations between the two nations.
