Deepika Padukone looked more stunning at the Cannes film festival than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Deepika Padukone surprised everyone at the Cannes film festival by looking stunning as she walked down the red carpet wearing a Saree. Deepika has surely left the other superstar from Bollywood, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan way behind with her ethnic look at the prestigious international film festival.
In fact, sources say that the Bollywood actress had done a lot of homework before she went to Cannes. This is because though Aishwarya Rai has been seen at the festival for last few years and everyone is very familiar with her, Deepika Padukone was keen that this year it is she, who is recognized as the face of India at the film festival.
Though Deepika Padukone has refused to comment on this issue, sources say that she has inquired about Aishwarya’s dress before selecting the dress she wanted to wear at Cannes.
Speaking about her choice of dress at the festival, Deepika Padukone said, “When I started modeling, I promised myself that whenever I attend an international event, I’d wear a Saree instead of western cloths. My desire to wear western outfits gets fulfilled in any case because I get enough opportunities at home to wear such clothes. Therefore I prefer that when I’m seen at an international event I’d rather be fully Indian.”
Deepika said that walking the red carpet at Cannes was very special for her because she had been at the festival as a tourist in 2002 and had seen stars walk down the red carpet. At that point of time she had promised herself that one day she herself will walk down the red carpet at this festival. Her wish has come true this year.
By looking more stunning than Aishwarya at Cannes film festival, Deepika has drawn the attention of many people towards her. She must be hoping that some of these people are film makers, who offer her good projects not only in India but also internationally
