Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori
Our Bollywood stars may be professionals but there are certain scenes, which most Bollywood stars find difficult to execute. Further, one more problem attached to such scenes is that they can ‘t even be rehearsed. One such scene, which all Bollywood actors find it extremely difficult to execute of Indian silver screen is the kissing scene.
Recently, while shooting a scene for the film Kites, the director of the film Anurag Basu was to shoot a sequence where Hrithik Roshan was to jump from a building along with his Mexican co-star Barbara Mori. Though it was a basically a stunt scene, to make it a little more interesting, Anurag Basu suggested that while the are jumping from the building, both Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori should Kiss in the air.
Since, on one hand, as an actor Hrithik felt it was his duty to do a scene, which was scripted by his director as per his satisfaction, on the other, he was a little hesitant to do the scene. So, Hrithik did do the scene and kiss his co-star, but instead of what he was probably asked to do, he kissed Barbara Mori on her cheeks.
But Barbara Mori thought that in context of the situation in the film, a perk on the cheeks would not look good and Hrithik Roshan should have kissed her on her lips.
So, the young lady went back to Hrithik and asked him why did he kiss her on the cheeks? Moreover, she asked, given that he was in a similar situation along with his wife, what would have he done. Wouldn’t he have kissed Suzanne on her lips?
It was then that Hrithik suggested to the director to re-shoot the scene. This time around, of course, Hrithik Roshan did precisely what he was expected to do.
Speaking about the scene later, Hrithik Roshan said, “The kissing scene has been done so tastefully, that it can be watched with the family.”
If that’s true Hrithik, then the whole credit for it should go solely to Barbara Mori.
