Hrithik-Roshan1

Where as his fans and Bollywood lovers eagerly await the release of Hrithik Roshan’s next film Kites, which has been in news for various reasons with its first look revealed in the recently concluded Cannes film festival, the media is getting ready to take him to task and has heavily criticize him for signing this film.

You may recall that Kites, which has Hrithik Roshan and international star Barbara Mori in the lead role, is being promoted as an international film. Hrithik himself is not leaving any stone unturned to promote Kites as an international project. But, now it seems that incidentally Hrithik has gone a little too far in his attempts in this regard. Speaking about the film recently, Hrithik said, “Kites is Your browser may not support display of this image.an international film in English, which has been shot in US, with a Mexican actress. It is a realistic film with no Bollywood style of song-and-dance. There is dance, but it is realistic, not Bollywood style. In Bollywood, if an actor has to sing, there is playback, and there are dances out of nowhere — and that’s obsolete now. This is a film for a world platform.”

It is this very statement that has put Hrithik Roshan in some trouble. Observers are now saying that this statement by seem to suggest as if Hrithik is not too happy with Bollywood style of film making. This, despite the fact that it is Bollywood that has brought Hrithik to this level and given him both name and fame.

The unhappy observers also seem to point out that whereas Hollywood style of film making may be realistic, it has never been able to attract the Indian audiences. Ultimately if Hrithik has to do Bollywood films, he will need to run around trees and sing and dance in Bollywood style. So, why unnecessarily criticize it?
