Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan in I Hate Luv Stories
Karan Johar has allowed the lead stars of I Hate Luv Stories , Imran Khan and Sonam Kappoor to promote the film only at the last moment.
In times when promotion of a film especially by the star cast makes a significant contribution in film’s success at the box office, Karan Johar in an unprecedented and unexpected move has exempted the lead star cast of his upcoming film I Hate Luv Stories, Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor, from promoting the film till the last moment.
Reports suggest that at a time when being the lead actor of the film, Imran Khan should be going all-out to promote the film to attract the audience to watch it, he is in Mauritius to shoot for Kunal Kohli’s under production film Break Ke Baad.
While confirming that Karan Johar, the producer of I Hate Luv Stories has allowed Imran to fulfill his commitments towards other producers during the days when the promotion of I Hate Luv Stories should be in full swing, Kunal Kohli said, ‘Yes, Karan sweetly let me have Imran’s dates so that I could complete the schedule of my film in Mauritius. Though it is rare, this time two producers have acted like friends and have helped one another.”
Apart from Imran, even the female lead of the film Sonam Kapoor is not going to be available to Karan for promoting the film until a just few days before the film’s release. Sonam too is outside India and is shooting for Punkaj Kapopr’s Mausam.
So, as the date of release of I Hate Luv Stories draws close, both Imran and Sonam are not available with Karan after the producer exempted them from promoting the film till the last moment. But, while the promotion may be delayed, Karan Johar has ensured when the two stars actually get down to promotion in the last week of June, the go all out and leave no stone unturned to promote the film.
