Is AR Murugadoss Acting Pricey?

by admin on April 21, 2009

You may think that it was the magnificent performance by Aamir Khan that made Ghajini one of the most successful film ever at the Box Office, but probably the film’s director AR Murugadoss does not agree with you. After successfully directing first the Tamil version of the film and then doing the same in its Hindi version, the young director is on the top of the world and feels that its him and his direction that are actually responsible for the overwhelming response, which the film was able to receive.
And, behaving truly like a star, AR Murugadoss has decided to cash the success of Ghajini and raised his price for directing a film.

Reports suggest that impressed with his work in Ghajini, when one of the biggest banner in Bollywood Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision approached him to sign him for their next production, Murugadoss allegedly asked for a whopping 11 crore as his remuneration for directing a film for the production house.

Bollywood is buzzing with the news that a meeting was held between Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision and the director, where the director was offered to direct a film but the talked failed to materialize. Initial reports suggested that AR Murugadoss was told that in the times of global economic recessions, it was not possible for the company to pay him the amount he was asking for. Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision is said to have offered him a sum of only 2 crore for the project.

It seems that Mr. Murugadoss is slightly confused. What probably AR Murugadoss needs to understand is that this is Bollywood. Unlike all other film industries, its not the technicians but only the star that sells here.

But wait a minute because the story doesn’t end here and has more twist and turns to it. Interestingly, when the senior office bearers of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision were asked to comment, they confirmed that a project had indeed been discussed with AR Murugadoss but refused to comment on whether he had been signed or the remuneration part was discussed with him or not and said , “As a part of company policy we do not discuss financial transactions with the media.”

On the other hand, when AR Murugadoss was contacted for his views he said, “I have been signed and will get the appointment letter after a week or so.”

What is clear in all this is that someone is lying. Who that some is, lets wait and watch.
