John Says No to Karan

It probably takes a Shahukh Khan or a Hrithik Roshan or probably a combination of both to deal with the power of Kajol and Kareena Kapoor. At least John Abraham thinks so.

And why not? Whereas Kajol is one good actress, who can give any actor a run for his money, Kareena is going through a kind of dream run, which can make even the biggest star insecure. Situation was probably a little different eight years back when the only film that featured both of them together Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham hit the silver screen with Kareena being a relatively newcomer then. But, now with both ladies being recognized as established actresses, even the biggest stars will have to think twice before sharing the screen with them in the same film.

This is precisely the dilemma that John Abraham went through as he was approached by Karan Johar for the lead role opposite the two ladies in his upcoming film.

Reports suggest that when Karan Johar decided to make the Hindi version of the Chris Columbus’s Stepmom, he offered the role of male lead to John Abraham.

Karan was so eager to rope in John Abraham for the role that he even offered to change the script and tried to assure John Abraham that his role will be at par with, if not more powerful than both Kajol and Kareena. But despite all his assurances, Karan failed to convince John, who is said to have turned down the offer.

Failing to convince John, Karan Johar has now roped in Arjun Rampal for the role.
