Karan Johar wants to celebrate his next birthday all by himself.
After enjoying his extended stay in USA, Bollywood director Karan Johar has decided go into an introspective mood. Karan, who transformed as a director after unlike his earlier movies, this time around he made a sensitive film with My Name Is Khan, is now getting ready to transform as an individual. The director, who loves partying and always remains in public glare, has decided to celebrate his birthday on May 25 all by himself. Karan has voluntarily decided to not celebrate his birthday this year and wants to stay away from his family and friends, who surround him on this day each year.
Karan said “At the moment, for the first time, I’m enjoying being all alone here in New York where I am just introspecting. I speak to my mom twice a day, and that’s all the connection with home I need right now.”
Karan adds, “I woke up one day here in New York to realize with a shock that I will be 38 within a couple of days. Moreover, in two years I’ll hit the crucial 40s. It then made me wonder, am I happy with the quality of my life and work and what sort of movies do I want to make?”
Karan, who is known for making Feel Good films in the past, says that My Name Is Khan has made him rediscover himself as a director and he is not going to make the kind of films he made earlier ever again. Karan feels that he should let other directors making films for his company do light-hearted and romantic films while her keeps his focus on more meaningful films.
It seems Karan Johar is going through a process of chance and by celebrating his next birthday all by himself; he wants to think over, what he wants to do next. May be by being all alone on his birthday this year, he can come up with another film like My Name Is Khan.
