It seems Kareena Kapoor is in a fix. The director of critically acclaimed film Aamir, Rajkumar Gupta, has approached the gorgeous actress to play the lead role in his next movie, which is supposed to be based on the famous Jessica Lal murder case that had stuck the headlines in 1999.
When asked, a depressed Rajkumar Gupta gave a rather confusing answer and said, “I did approach Kareena Kapoor initially to play one of the two protagonists. But nothing more can be said about the casting right now.”
It seems that what’s really bothering Kareena is that she cannot decide which of the two lead characters, either the one of Jessicca Lal, who got killed when she refused to serve a drink at a bar or that of her sister Sabrina, who fought the case of her dead sister and took the accused to court, is more important in the film.
Speaking about this proposed project, Rajkumar Gupta said he got the inspiration to make this film after he read a news report in a daily newspaper which was titled “No One Killed Jessica.” Since the idea of making this film came into the director’s mind only after reading this news report, Rajkumar also decided that he is going to make the film with this very title only “No One Killed Jessica” . The story of the film will feature not only the shooting incident, but the difficulties faced by Sabrina Lal during the trail against the alleged killer Manu Sharma, who is the son of a powerful politician.
Irrespective of who does which role, hopefully Rajkumar is going to have a few sitting with Sabrina Lal and make a realistic as well as entertaining film highlighting what actually happened that fateful night and how justice is bought and sold in this country.
