Kites has got good opening in U S A.
Despite Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori starrer Kites not getting very good reviews when the film was shown at the Cannes film festival last year and even after its release in India, the critics not really liking Kites, the film has had a grand opening in USA. After the film was released in USA along with its release in India, Kites has opened to a grand opening in that country. With the film ranked at number 10 in USA in its opening weekend, Hrithik has created a record of sorts by becoming the first Bollywood star, whose film has made it to top ten films in USA in its opening week.
Trade analyst point out that to come to number 10 spot in the country, Kites has made a collection of USD 1 Million in the opening weekend of the film’s release.
Interestingly, whereas the film may not have been praised by many critics in India, despite being a foreign film, it has been widely reviewed and praised by analyst across USA.
With the grand opening of the film in USA and the critics giving it a big thumps-up, the hopes of the edited English version of the film Kites the Remixed, which releases in USA next week, doing well have also increased. After the good initial response in the USA, producer Rakesh will now try to put an extra effort in releasing the English Remixed version of the film across the globe so that the film helps in making Hrithik, a super star across the world.
