If you go around hunting in Bollywood, you will find that the one word that is most commonly used in the industry is different. Also, contrary to the fact that it is used to describe every film being made in this industry, not every film is actually different. Same goes for the actors.
But if there is one lead female actress, who surely seems to be different in today’s Bollywood is Konkona Sen Sharma.
Though off late, there have been other actresses like Tabu, who have successfully taken on off beat roles, but most such films, where Tabu did these roles were the so called art cinema films. But there is big difference between the two. Where as Tabu took up what really is the art cinema, Konkona has done these roles in films like Life In A Merto and Page 3, which were totally commercial films.
But, there is one more surprising and unique fact about Konkona that makes her different from all other stars to have ever been a part of this industry.
Believe it or not, Konkona probably is the only star ever in Bollywood, who loves reading Bollywood gossip columns. Speaking on this issue recently, Konkana said that she is not bothered by what is written in such columns.
The reason for this difference may be that unlike some other actresses, Konkona doesn’t pressurize herself with too many acting assignments. As she puts it, “I can’t go hunting for projects. The day I have to do that, I will be out of this industry.”
Whether or not Konkona is success as a Bollywood actress, she is surely going to be a big hit among the journalist, who write on Bollywood. At least, there is one person in the industry, who enjoys their work.
