Deepika and Saif Ali Khan in Loove Aaj Kal

All is well that ends well. If there is one person in Bollywood, who must be hoping for this saying to come true, its Saif Ali Khan. With at least the start to the promotional campaign to his first home production Love Aaj Kal, not going the way he wanted it to, he must be hoping that the fate of the film at the Box office is somewhat different.

Saif had planned a unique promotional campaign for the movie, hoping to catch up with his fans, as they are hooked to their television sets to watch the T20 cricket world cup being held in England. Saif had an understanding and a tie-up with the broadcasters of the tournament according to which, Saif and Deepika Padukone along with co-producer Dinesh Vijan and director Imtiaz Ali were to promote the film on the championship venues. Alongside, reports say that both the lead stars of the movie, Saif and Deepika were to feature on pre-match shows to promote the film.

But, with India not doing well in the World cup and making an exit before the semi-final stage, the planned campaign has come to an abrupt end.
Reports suggest that Saif and Deepika Padukone along with co-producer Dinesh Vijan and director Imtiaz reached London for India’s match with England, but watching India get beaten by England, the disappointed crew decided to return home.

The members of Saif’s team are now indulging in a face saving game. When asked about this promotional event, the director of Love Aaj Kal said, “We only went for the India vs England match. We were not supposed to promote the film in the remaining matches.”

Irrespective of whatever may have been the fate of this promotional campaign at the T20 world cup,  if Saif was able to spend some time with Kareena in London, as they were suppose to during the T20 cricket world cup, Saif may not be complaining a lot.
