An actor’s job is to make you laugh and cry. A good actor is one, who makes you laugh as he laughs and cry when he cries on the screen. An actor is said to have done his job well only when you as a viewer have that level of an involvement in his film.
Surprisingly, some people are able to create that special magic on the screen. Whether its their own ability as an actor or its that wonderful story and screenplay or the excellent direction that gets you involved so much that despite knowing that the reel world is not the actual world, you tend to believe what you see as the real truth.
But, three people, who are best placed to know that whatever is happening on the screen has nothing to do with reality, are the writer, the director and the actor. So, it is rather rare that they will get emotional while watching their own film.
But recently, Katrina Kaif is said to have got emotional while watching a Bollywood film and that too her own film New York. In a special screening of the film before its release, Katrina got so carried away that she started crying. Sources said that Katrina was so touched and impressed by her own character and the overall story of the film that she could not hold back her emotions.
Katrina herself felt that this was something most unexpected for her. "This was embarrassing as it has never happened to me earlier. I was so deeply touched by the film that I couldn’t believe what my director Kabir Khan had achieved in my performance. I kept staring at myself. ‘That’s me!’ I exclaimed at the end of the film."
Katrina added that one of the reason why she was moved by the film was that she felt deeply close to her character in New York and connected with it. She said, though her character in Namastey London, was quite close to her real life since she is also an Indian, who lived in England, she never related to even that character the way she has done with her character in New York. Katrina said that this was her first realistic film in the sever years that she has spent in the industry and therefore she is proud to be a part of it.
Definitely, New York will also be very special for Katrina since she will always remember it as a film that made her an actor from a star. And now, with the film being a commercial success as well, there is all the more reason for Katrina to be happy and celebrate.
