Prateik Babbar accuses Sanjay Leela Bhansali of not being focused on work. Prateik Babbar has said that his film My Friend Pinto failed at the box office because producer of the film Sanjay Leela Bhansali was not serious in making it and did not concentrate on his work.
Accusing the producer, Prateik Babbar said, “Bhansali did not have time for the film and he never even came on the sets at the time of shooting.”
But with these comments, Prateik Babbar has opened up an all new debate. There are many producers and production houses in Bollywood. who make more than one film at a given point of time and surely cannot be at two different sets and places simultaneously. The recent example of this fact is Karan Johar, whose production house Dharma Production has released two film Agneepath and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu within a gap of 20 days. Surely, both the films were made together and their shooting also took place almost at the same time and Karan Johar couldn’t have been at both places at the same time.
Different producers have different take on this issue. For example, while Kumar Taurani feels that he needn’t attend the shooting of his film everyday but Pooja Bhatt says that it is important for her to be present at all her shooting and post-production schedules.
Irrespective of whether Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s absence during the shooting affected the film or not, the fact remains that My Friend Pinto flopped at the box office. The producer’s absence may have given a reason to Prateik Babbar to explain the failure of this film but he needs to find one more reason, and that too a better one for the failure of Ek Deewana Tha.
Prateik Babbar should have met Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the shooting of the My Friend Pinto and told him the same thing he is telling now. This would have helped the film a lot.
