Bollywood film maker Ram Gopal Verma is now going to publish and edit a newspaper to promote his film Runn.
Ram Gopal Verma is known not only for making unique films but also for promoting them in the most unique manner. Now, he plans to publish and edit a daily newspaper to promote his new film Rann.
If sources close to Verma are to be believed, this newspaper will be like any other newspaper you have read till now and will carry the usual sections like politics, sports, city and entertainment.
But unlike your daily newspaper, this one will not be lying outside your house when you open the door every morning. The daily newspaper to be published by Ram Gopal Verma, which will be called Rann Times, will be available in various cinema halls till the time the movie Runn starring Amitabh Bachchan hits the cinema halls.
Ram Gopal Verma hopes that he will be able to publish around 3 Lac copies of the newspaper on a daily basis, which will be made available at 500 cinema halls all across the country.
Speaking about the unique concept to promote Runn, the producer of the film Madhu Mehta said, “Since ‘Rann deals with the relationship between the common man and the media, we thought a daily newspaper would be a good way of supporting our film.”
Though, it may not be a bad idea to publish and edit a newspaper to promote a film that deals with media, but what Ram Gopal Verma needs to understand is that along with good promotion, if a film has to do well, the film itself has to be good. Ram Gopal Verma has earlier tried various ways to promote some of his earlier films like putting up dummy bodies on hoardings to attract viewers but had failed.
