Saif Ali Khan did not buy an IPL team because it did not make a good economic sense to him.

Saif Ali Khan recently said that though he was interested in owning an IPL cricket team, he was happy that he eventually did not own one because the entire deal did not make good economic sense to the Bollywood star.

Speaking about his decision not to own an IPL cricket team, Saif recently said, “It is a business proposition that made sense to us at a particular price, but certainly not at 370 million! Moreover, it does not make economic sense to us anymore.”

Saif said that he did not want to buy an IPL cricket team only for business purpose and to make a lot of money out of it but because he belongs to a cricketing family. You may recall the Saif’s father Masoor Ail Khan Pataudi is a former captain of Indian cricket team and his family is closely linked with the sport.

But with new developments taking place and the entire IPL cricket tournament getting into controversy, the two Bollywood stars including Saif and Salman Khan, who were interested in owning an IPL team but eventually were not able to own one, must be feeling that they have rather been lucky to not get into this new deal.

Today, while looking back, Saif must be thinking his decision not to own a IPL cricket team was not only a good decision economically but also personally as apart from blocking a huge amount of money, Saif would have then got into legal controversy regarding evading tax by investing into IPL, which some other Bollywood stars like Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty may now get into.
