Shahrukh Khan was smoking publicly in South Africa? If by any chance he sneezes, that’s an issue for the rest of the world and if he doesn’t sneezes, even that’s some news. Welcome to the world of one and only Shahrukh Khan. Though, the Badshah of Bollywood may be in South Africa right now with his IPL Kolkata Knight Riders team, his star status and controversies just don’t seem to leave him even there.

Shahrukh Khan has this time been taken to charge by an organization known as The National Organization for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE), which has taken serious objection to the pictures on Television that showed him smoking inside an enclosed area during an IPL match. The Organization said that since smoking is not allowed inside an enclosed area in South Africa, Shahrukh had violated the law and therefore is liable for punishment.

NOTE said that they had contacted the South African National Council Against Smoking, an organization that works for a cause similar to their’s and asked it to take up the issue with South African authorities.

But, all said and done, Shahrukh Khan is still a king and therefore can do what others can’t even think of. No we are not talking here of smoking, but what he has done for his IPL team. The Badshah has managed to rope in the famous soft drink brand Coke to sponsor his team Kolkata Knight Riders. Reports suggest that in times of economic slowdown, where not many companies are coming forward to block their money anywhere, Coke’s approval to sponsor Kolkata Knight Riders is not only a great news for IPL, but speaks volumes about Shahrukh Khan’s status as an individual.

Well, this goes to show that there are both advantages and disadvantages of being a celebrity and it depends on the concern person to make most of it. At the end of the day, of course, one person who always makes the most of his popularity is none other than Shahrukh Khan.
