Sherlyn Chopra was banned from posting pictures on Twitters after she allegedly posted some of her provocative pictures on the social networking site.
Twitter is said to have taken this step when the pictures posted by Sherlyn created widespread controversy after some social groups and people in general objected to such provocative material forcing the concerned site to ban her from posting any pictures on the site.
A source says that by posting these provocative pictures on Twitters, she has used her account as a medium of exhibition. Though the revealing pictures have increased Sherlyn’s following on the site, many of new followers are social activists, who actually disapprove of this action by the Bollywood actress.
The source further goes on to add that these social activists are not only opposing the pictures posted by Sherlyn but they also plan to lodge a formal online FIR to register their protest against the Bollywood actress, who posted these pictures. Meanwhile Twitter has also taken action against Sherlyn and barred her from posting any pictures on the site in the future.
But whereas there is widespread opposition to her posting those provocative pictures, Sherlyn has come up with her own defense over the issue. To begin with, she feels that living in the 21st century, educated people using the internet should be mature enough to deal with such pictures. Sherlyn said that she made this post because she did not feel that the pictures were so objectionable that they cannot be posted on the net and people cannot see them.
Sherlyn added that she was just trying to see people’s reaction to the pictures and the number of people clicking on her profile off-late goes to show that people have liked the pictures.
She also lashed out at the social networking site and other people opposing her pictures saying, “I feel I have the right to express my views on my account and by opposing the pictures and banning me from posting any pictures on my account, those opposing me are actually infringing my right to freedom of expression.”
But, it seems fearing a sharp reaction from other users and social activists, Twitter has decided to not listen to Sherlyn Chopra and banned her from posting pictures on the social networking site.
