The makers of Housefull are in trouble for using the line of the song Apni To Jaise Taise without permission.
The Calcutta High Court has held-up producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Sajid Khan for voilating the copyright act by using the famous song Apni To Jaise Taise in their film Housefull without permission. The court has asked the makers of Housefull to edit the line of the song to avoid any further objections from any quarters in this regard.
The makers of Housefull are in problem because a part of the lyrics and the music of a song Apni To Jaise Taise used in their film are very similar to what was used in 1981 release, Laawaris.
The Calcutta High Court issued the order on an application filed by music composer Anandji of the famous Kalyanj-Anandji fame, who composed the music of many hit film including Laawaris.
Though the director of 1981 release Laawaris, Prakash Mehra, who also wrote the lyrics of the song is not alive anymore, members of his family have also filed a separate case in this regard, where they have alleged that the lyrics of the song Apni To Jaise Taise belong to Prakash Mehra and if someone wanted to use them, they should have taken permission for these purpose.
But, on the other hand director of Housefull has defended himself saying that by including a line from Laawaris in his filml, he has paid a tribute to the late director and everyone else associated with that film and he does not need any permission for this purpose.
Meanwhile, the court has asked all the concerned parties to file an affidavit within two weeks.
It seems that by using the line Apni To Jaise Taise without permission, the makers of Housefull have got themselves in a lot of trouble and ultimately they will have to remove the concerned line from the song.
