Its sad that in Bollywood, all that really matters is the star status. If you are a bigger star than your co-star, you stand to dictate the terms but by any chance, the person opposite you is having a bigger star status than you yourself, than be ready to even be insulted or take on the heat.
Two persons who learnt this recently were producer Vishal Bhardwaj and actor Arshad Warsi. Whereas Vishal Bhardwaj may be an excellent director and his films like Maqbool and Omkara may be massive hits, but when it comes to being a producer, his production house is not a very big name in Bollywood. In the very same manner, though Arshad Warsi alias Circuit may be an exceptional comedian but when it comes to other kind of roles, he is nobody to even be talked off.
Both Vishal and Arshad were made to realize this by Vidya Balan, the lead actress of Ishqiya, the upcoming film of Vishal’s production house.
Vidya was recently asked to do a kissing scene with her co-star in Ishqiya, Arshad Warsi but the actress reportedly refused and called off the shooting.
This was very surprising for Vishal since the young actress had previously done such scenes in Guru and Salaam-E-Ishq. Therefore, Vishal just couldn’t find a good enough reason for the fact that why should Vidya refuse this time around. Was it the fact that Arshad is not that a big star to be kissed?
Whatever may be the reason, Vishal, who is highly upset with Vidya refusing to do the scene and walking off leaving the shooting right in the middle, hasn’t given up his hope. When asked Vishal said he hopes to talk to Vidya soon so that the problem can be sorted out and the shooting of the scene can be completed.
