Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai
Raj Kumar Santoshi asked Abhishek Bachchan to return the signing amount for his film Ladies and Gentleman.
Director Rajkumar Santishi recently asked Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan to return an amount of Rs 50 Lacs, which was paid to the actor as a signing amount for a film, which never went on the floor in the first place.
The director had approached the Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan for a film named Ladies and Gentleman. Raj Kumar Santoshi wanted to make with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek in the lead roles. But, just like Madhur Bhandarkar, who did not think that Aishwarya could do his film while she was pregnant, Raj Kumar Santoshi also not only found the Bachchan Bahu unfit to do this role when she was on her way to becoming a mother but also decided to put the entire project in cold storage.
Sources close to the director say that he did not make an issue of Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy because he was hopeful that she would return to work right after her delivery and he would not need to ask for the amount of Rs 25 Lacs each, which he paid the two leading stars of his film for signing Ladies and Gentleman. But with no signal from Aishwarya Rai of making a comeback, Raj Kumar Santoshi recently went to Abhishek Bachchan’s house and asked him to return the signing amount paid for the film.
But, the entire incident has not left any hard feelings between Abhishek Bachchan and Raj Kumar Santoshi. Whereas Abhishek immediately returned the amount of Rs 50 Lacs when Santoshi went to his Bungalow, even Santoshi said that he still wants to work with Abhishek Bachchan and will find another project for him very soon.
Abhishek Bachchan needs a good film and Rajkumar Santoshi can provide him one. Hopefully they will work together soon.
