Nirmal Pandey
Nirmal Pandey who shot to fame for the role of Vikram Mallah in Shekhar Kapur’s Bandi Queen is reportedly dead. He expired late afternoon today in Mumbai; he was 48.
He won a Best Actress Valenti award in France for portraying a transvestite in the movie Dayaraa. A graduate of the National School of Drama, Nirmal Pandey also gained recognition by playing notable roles in A Train To Pakistan, Is Raat Ki Subah Nahi and Hum Tum Pe Marte Hain. He also dabbled in music with his album called Jazba in 2002.
According to initial reports he died of massive heart attack. He was being taken to the Holy Spirit hospital in Andheri.
Sudhir Mishra, who directed him in Is Raat Ki Subah Nahi, said in his condolence message, “Nirmal was a gentle guy, and very comfortable with his softer side. That’s how I remember him. I can’t comment profoundly because I was out of touch with Nirmal for the past seven-eight years
