Aisha has managed to establish Sonam Kapoor.
If Anil Kapoor made Aisha, a women oriented story to establish his daughter in the Hindi film industry, he has been able to succeed to a large extent as the film has been able to pull crowd and establish Sonam as an actress in Bollywood.
Though the overall film did not get very goods reviews, Aisha became the third movie after Delhi 6 and the super hit I Hate luv Stories, where Sonam’s performance was praised by both the critics and the viewers, who went to watch the film.
Despite the fact that Sonam had a perfect role in the film, which any lead lady of Bollywood would love to do, making such a film was a big risk for the producers because female oriented don’t really draw huge crowds to the box office. But, with the grand opening Aisha got, this has been proved wrong.
One other factor that helped Aisha was that it was released soon after the release of the much-appreciated I Hate Love Storys. As the success of the Soman and Imran Khan starrer was fresh in people’s mind, they went to see Aisha hoping for another good performance from Sonam and weren’t disappointed.
As it was expected, Aisha has been able to draw huge crowds in big cities like Mumbai and Delhi with the youth visiting the multiplexes to watch the film and appreciating it.
Though reports suggest that the collections have gone down as the week has progressed, the good news for the producers is that the film has had more than 80% collection in its first weekend.
Aisha doing well in the opening weekend and helping Sonam to settle down in Bollywood is a surely great news for Anil Kapoor and his family.
