Amitabh Bachchan
It seems that whereas it was his good friend Amar Singh, who recently fell ill and was hospitalized, it is Amitabh Bachchan who has actually felt the effect of that illness.
The 67 years old superstar from Bollywood, who has just retuned from a visit to Singapore, where he had gone to visit his ailing friend Amar Sigh, is suddenly having a feeling that he has had enough and its time that he should cut down on his work.
You may recall after ruling the world of Bollywood cinema for almost two decades, it was in early 90’s that Mr. Bachchan had decided to cut down his work and had become very choosy about the work he undertakes. But it was the sudden loss that his company ABCL suffered, which brought him back into the business and forced him to take up more assignments.
At present Mr. Bachchan with as many as eight projects on floor can give any big star of Bollywood, including Sharukh Khan and Aamir Khan, a run for their money.
But, Mr. Bachchan feels its time now. Reports suggest that Mr. Bachchan is now seriously thinking of cutting down his work and even taking a break if possible.
But, going by the popularity that Mr. Bachchan has among the film makers and his fans, it won’t be easy for him to put his thought into action. Sources say that Mr. Bachchan is one of the few stars in Bollywood for whom roles are especially written even at this age and his producers are willing to wait and postpone their projects in the case of Mr. Bachchan taking a break.
So, even if we see a little less of him in the future, it may not be easy for Mr. Bachchan to totally vanish from the screen and take the break that he is thinking of.
