Amitabh Bachchan has offered to be the brand ambassador of Gujarat and promote the state.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has said he would love to promote Gujarat and be its brand ambassador so that he can help bring to limelight the state’s tourist destination and other special attractions.

Mr. Bachchan said, “There are lots of good things in the state of Gujarat which need to be promoted. I am ready and willing to give my voice and face for the promotion of Gujarat tourism.”

Mr. Bachchan expressed his preparedness to promote Gujarat when he recently met the Chief Minister of the state Mr. Narendra Modi and the two watched Mr. Bachchan’s recent release Paa at a multiplex in the city of Gandhinagar.

Mr. Bachchan clarified that there was nothing political about his visit to the state and he had come to Gujarat just to promote Paa. He added that he had shown the film to Mr. Modi because he wanted the film to be made tax-free in the state of Gujarat.

Giving proof of what a good actor he is, Mr. Bachchan tried to avoid any controversy when being asked about Narendra Modi he said, “Inke baare main kya bolu. (what can I say about this man). He is doing a good job as a chief minister in Gujarat. His efforts are commendable.”

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi thanked Mr Bachchan for taking interest in promoting Gujarat as a brand. He said that Hindi films at large and Mr. Bachchan in particular have a huge impact on the society and he himself has been influenced by Mr. Bachchan.

Hopefully if Mr. Bachchan’s offer to be the brand ambassador of Gujarat and promote the state is accepted by Narendra Modi and his government, it will do a lot of good to the state.
