As Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his birthday on October 11, it seemed as if everyone wanted to be a part of the occasion and wish him on his special day. And guess, who had to bear the burden of Mr. Bachchan’s popularity and was kept busy the whole day. Well, it was none else than Mr. Bachchan’s mobile phone, which kept ringing the entire day as it received a sum total of 1207 SMS’s by fans and well-wishers, who called to say Happy Birthday to Mr. Bachchan.
Mr. Bachchan of course is overwhelmed by this gesture from his family, friends and fans. While mentioning about this on his blog, Mr. Bachchan wrote, "I feel I am blessed to have so much love and affection from others. It is the greatest debt that I shall carry to my grave and one that I shall never be able to return back. Family and friends called me up and 1207 SMSes jammed the mobile."
While thanking the hundreds of fans, who took pains to come and gathered outside his three bungalows Prateeksha, Jalsa and Janak to wish him, Amitabh Bachhchan apologized that police had to be harsh with some of them to keep them at a distance for security purpose.
The way his fans gather outside his house every year goes to show that even at this age, Amitabh Bachchan still enjoys the kind of popularity that no other star enjoys in Bollywood.
It wasn’t only his fans but various newspapers and Television channels carried reports about his birthday, Amitabh Bachchan though, celebrated his birthday with a few selected near and dear ones. Apart from his wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya, his daughter Shewta, and close friends like Amar Singh and Anil Ambani joined him on this occasion.
