Anil Kapoor says that he has been inspired by Mahatma Gandhi and Barack Obama for his character in 24.

Anil Kapoor, who is playing the character of a politician in the new Television series 24, says that while undertaking the role, he had leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Barack Obama in mind.

Anil says that he wanted his character to look like a real life politician and he found no other way to do this than study some successful real life politicians and try to understand their life and style of functioning.

Anil while revealing this said that since he wants to look like a good politician, he is reading about many successful politicians and trying to include some of their special qualities in his character. Apart from Mahatma Gandhi and Barack Obama, Anil is said to be reading the speeches of many other well-known world leaders and trying to understand what was special in them. He is said to have read the speeches of leaders like Martin Luther King and Bill Clinton and is trying to learn what was special about them.

Despite the fact that he had never hosted the show Kaun Banega Carorepati on Indian Television, Anil Kapoor was the chosen actor to host the show in the film Slumdog Millionaire and impressed everyone with his superb performance. Whereas till the release of the film, it was believed that only superstars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan had the persona of holding the attention of Indian audiences on a game show on Television, but though through a film, Anil has proved that he too has that capability. Now, let us wait and see that whereas many actors from both in India and abroad have portrayed the character of a political leader, what difference does Anil make to the character by getting inspired and reading about famous and successful leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Barack Obama.
