Contrary to all the glamour, name, fame and money that are attached to it, working in Bollywood can be very painful and taxing and all stars learn this reality in a hard way. Whereas the new comers in Bollywood probably assume that this is the way this industry functions, those who cross over to Mumbai’s dream world from southern film industry, just cannot find any logic in some of this initial shocks, which are said to be tradition in Bollywood.
And the latest addition to this list of Southern stars to be confused by some of the most common traditions in Bollywood, which are considered painful by the rest, is the Ghajini sensation Asin. The young lady cannot understand why everyone in Bollywood feels proud and has a great sense of achievement, when they report late for shooting.
Asin came to know about this bitter reality while shooting for Vipul Shah’s London Dreams, where she stars opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.
It needs to be recalled here that though in Ghajini, she was paired opposite Aamir Khan, she never got a taste of Bollywood style of film making since most of the people in the unit, working on the movie were from the Southern film industry.
Asin also seems to be a little surprised by the presence of assistant directors in Bollywood, who ensure the star’s presence and availability on the sets.
