Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan
While Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the red carpet at the Cannes film festival as the brand ambassador of L’Oreal cosmetics, you may ask what was Abhishek Bachchan doing there? Was he just giving company to his wife Aishwarya and enjoying a free holiday or did he mean some business? While no one knows the exact answer to that particular question, it seems that Abhishek’s presence at the festival has helped the actor at least to some extent.
Where as his wife Aishwarya has already become a well-known name in international film circuit, with his presence at the festival, a lot of film makers are now impressed with Abhishek as well. Reports suggest that a Paris based producer Manuel de la Roche, is now contemplating the idea of casting the father-son duo of Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan for his next movie. Roche is said to have signed a French director Jan Kounen, who in turn will now hold discussion with the Bachchans for a film named The Secret History of the Dalai Lamas.
The film could well interest the senior Bachchan since, Bollywood apart, even by Hollywood standards, this is going to be a very different kind of a project. As Roche puts it, “The film will trace and show the history of the Dalai Lamas from the 14th century onwards. It will mix together the dramatized re-enactments involving the earlier incarnations with excerpts from an interviews with the current Dalai Lama.”
Apart from the two Bachchans, The Secret History of the Dalai Lamas, which is to be shot in Himachal Pradesh, will also include international stars like Sharon Stone and Richard Gere.
