Bollywood will soon see a comedy on Osama Bin Laden.
Ever since Osama Bin Laden and his organization’s name got involved in the attack on the twin World Trade Centre buildings in New York, his name has been associated with serious issues. Leave alone the United States of America, our own Bollywood film makers have dealt with this issue in the most serious manner, with films like New York and My Name Is Khan showing the adverse impact of the attack on Muslims from India and Asia, who live in USA.
Though, there cannot be a lighter side of the sufferings the residence of New York had to go through after the attack on the city, can there be a lighter side of Osama Bin Laden, the man who allegedly masterminded these attacks on the city?
Well, if a producer from Bollywood, Pooja Shetty and director Abhishek Sharma are to be believed, there can be a lighter side of Laden, which they have shown in their film Tere Bin Laden.
The story of Tere Bin Laden, revolves round a young journalist cum reporter from Pakistan, who wants to visit USA, but his visa keeps getting rejected time and again just because he belongs to a particular religion and country. But, his life changes, when he takes a fake interview of a man, who is a look alike of Laden and sells it to a Television channel. Though the journalist comes to limelight immediately, he also gets noticed by the American investigation agency FBI, which is interested to know how and from where did the journalist get the interview of the most wanted man in USA?
Tere Bin Laden not only boasts of a unique story but also an unconventional star cast. The film will feature the veteran theatre personality Barry John, who will face the camera after seven years. The film directed by Abhishek Sharma will also feature pop star from Pakistan Ali Zafar, Chinmay Mandlekar, Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, Chirag Vohra and Piyush Mishra.
By trying to show a comedy on Osama Bin Laden, the makers of Tere Bin Laden have certainly tried a different film. Hopefully it works.
