Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone in Chandni Chowk To China
Akshay Kumar is not a happy man today and he is upset with not one or two people alone but with all those who have written off his latest flick Chandni Chowk To China as a flop. Akshay while agreeing to the fact that though the film may not be as successful as Ghajini and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi or it may even fail to meet the standards set by Akshay himself in Namastay London and Singh Is King, feels it surely isn’t a flop by any standards. Akshay even supports his argument by saying that Chandni Chowk To China has had a bumper opening, with the collections of the movie being one of the best ever in Bollywood history.
True Akshay, but just to remind you, those are the collections of only the first two days of the release of the Chandni Chowk To China. The collections of the film dropped so sharply from third day onwards that it can put even the biggest flops to shame.
What’s even worse news for the distributors is the fact that despite being promoted on the international level in a big way with premiere in London, Chandni Chowk To China hasn’t been able to hold the international audiences to their seats as well.
Meanwhile, Akshay who is riding high with the success he got in 2008, has refused to take the responsibility for the failure of Chandni Chowk To China. Akshay feels that his fans are so used to watching him with Katrina that they did not like watching him paired with Deepika Padukone in Chandni Chowk To China. In fact, Akshay is not said to be too keen to star opposite Deepika in near future.
Well, instead of justifying a flop film and playing the blame game, had everyone connected with Chandni Chowk To China made a good movie, it would have been much better.
