Deepika Padukone recently surprised Neil Nitin Mukesh by her ability to perform action scenes.
Action in Bollywood, especially when it comes to dangerous stunt is a territory dominated by males. Even if lead ladies have to try some action scenes, rather than taking risk themselves, they prefer some duplicate to carry out these difficult scenes on their behalf. But recently, to the surprise of everyone including her co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh, Deepika Padukone did some difficult stunts in her upcoming movie Lafange Parindey all by herself.
Reports suggest that Lafange Parindey, directed by Pradeep Sarkar is an all-out action film, where the lead pair has tried many dangerous stunts.
In one such scene, Deepika had to slip into a pit, which was quite deep. But, Deepika wasn’t suppose to slip into the dip all by herself because Nitin was to be with her in the dip. When Nitin saw the dip, he felt that this was a difficult stunt for Deepika and it would be better if the director seeks help from someone professional for the scene and use a body doubles for her during this particular scene.
But Deepika took this opportunity to prove that since she belongs to a sporting family, she is fitter than the remaining lead ladies in the industry. Deepika refused to take the help from anyone and did the dangerous scene herself by not only slipping into the dip filled with muddy water but staying there as long as long as the director was not satisfied with the shot.
Sources close to the Bollywood lead lady point out that she wasn’t afraid of the action sequence because being a good swimmer, Deepika knew she could manage the scene without any difficulty.
Though, for Deepika it was just another scene, Neil was pleasantly surprised and impressed by her ability to perform dangerous action scenes.
