Rohan Sippy has been allowed to use Dum Maro Dum Song by Dev Anand.
Director Rohan Sippy is one of few, who has been able to impress the superstar of yesteryears Dev Anand and get permission to use the super hit composition from the film Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Dum Maro Dum, for his upcoming film.
Despite the fact that Dev Anand’s home production has failed to give a hit for more than last two decades now, the producer-director-actor has not been open to discussing any of his work with anyone. Therefore when Rohan Sippy approached him to part with one of the most memorable song of his career, Dum Maro Dum, it was most unlikely that Dev Anand would agree to such an arrangement.
Dev Anand agreed because he has very high regards for the Sippy family, which has been in the business of film making for three generations. He feels that the Sippy family is one of those, who will treat his all time great composition with the same respect as he himself did.
Rohan will be using the song as the title track for his film Dum Maro Dum, which stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Rana Daggubatti in the lead role.
Rohan hopes to make improvements in the song before it gets to the audiences. Pitam, who is music composer of Dum Maro Dum, will remix the famous song in the film. Rohan also wants the song to be a visual treat. Though Bipasha is the lead lady of the film, the song will be filmed on any other lead lady from Bollywood including Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor
Lets see if Rohan can make the best use of the rare opportunity he has got after Dev Anand allowed him to use Dum Maro Dum. Can the new remixed version be as hit as the original song?
