Bollywood fans may see more of Sir Ben Kingsley in days to come.
The recently released Teen Patti is a rare film not because it stars a foreign actor in it since many films not only in recent past but also over the years have had foreign actors starring in a Bollywood film but because it has Ben Kingsley in one of the lead roles.
So, what’s so special in Ben Kingsley being a part of a Bollywood movie? What makes Ben’s appearance in Teen Patti so special is that with this film, first time an Oscar winning actor from Hollywood is starring in a Bollywood movie. The director of Teen Patti, Leela Yadav says that she chose Ben for the role because she needed an international star in the film and she could not think anyone else apart from Ben for the role.
Though there are speculations that despite being well-known in India and Bollywood due to his perfect portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi, Ben and his vast talent has been wasted in Teen Patti due to the small length of his role. But, this hasn’t disturbed the Hollywood actor in any way.
If reports are to be believed Ben is immensely happy with the experience he has had in Bollywood with his debut film Teen Patti and is looking at other scripts for more roles in Hindi Films in days to come.
To begin with, talks are on that Ben may be seen as emperor Shah Jahan in a Bollywood movie that will also feature Aishwarya Rai in the lead role of Mumtaz Mehal.
Ben must be waiting to see the reaction of Bollywood fans in the recently released film Teen Patti. If he does leave an impression in the film, he may even decide to stay back in Bollywood and play a longer innings in Hindi films and his fans may see much more of Ben in days to come.
