Slumdog Millionaire team has yet to recover from the Oscar fever. But the career of its lead pair is heading in the right direction. Its male protagonist Dev Patel has already been approached by with Manoj Night Shyamalan. He is doing the villain’s role in The Last Airbender. Earlier replacing actor Jesse McCartney was doing this role. Now Freida Pinto is doing a movie with director Woody Allen. This is a dream debut in Hollywood for any Indian actress.
Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto was appearing in an interview to U.S. morning news programme Today. The 24-year-old Pinto thanked director Danny Boyle for landing her a role in three-time Oscar winner Allen’s new venture. “Yes, it”s up (begins) in July (09). So thank you, Danny Boyle, for helping me take off,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying. Slumdog Millionaire made an almost clean sweep at the Oscars by winning 8 awards including the Best Film.
Indian composer AR Rahman bagged two Oscar awards for Best Original Score, while shared the Best Original Song with renowned lyricist Gulzar.
