Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu makes more than Rs 30 crore in first week.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu was an important offering by an important team and its success meant as lot for its team. This was a film by Imran Khan, who last year gave hits like Delhi Belly and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Kareena Kapoor, who before this release gave hits like Golmaal 3, Bodyguard and Ra.One and Karan Johar, who as producer has given Agneepath, which proved to be the first hit of 2012.
When Karan Johar started producing Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, he had said that since it is a film for the youth, it would be released on Valentine’s Day in 2012. Having been promoted as a film for the youth, it was very important for the youth to accept this film. And going by its first week collections across the country, it seems they actually have.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is said to have made somewhere between Rs 31 Crore to Rs 33 Crore as its first week collections across India, which is not bad in any way. Though the film started slow on Friday, good reviews made Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu pick-up and make good collections. The collections over the weekend were extremely good as the film made over 8 crores each on Saturday and Sunday.
Karan Johar has had two hits in a gap of three weeks this year. May be after the phenomenal opening of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, he should take a clue and release maximum of his productions this year itself.
