Abhishek Bachchan
One man, who is said to be extremely upset these days is the respected Southern director Mani Ratnam.
Though Mani Ratnam and Abhishek Bachchan are said to be very close to each other both at a professional and personal front and therefore the director is able to get the best out of junior Bachchan, reports in the media last week suggested that Ratnam was highly upset with Abhishek performance in Ravana.
Reports suggested that after recovering from his ill health, when Mani Ratnam saw portions of Ravana, he felt that Southern superstar Vikram, who plays an important character in the film, has completely overshadowed Abhishek with his powerful performance. Sources also said that Mani Ratnam had discussed this issue with Abhiskek at length and both had mutually agreed to re-shoot some portion of the film.
But, now it seems Mani Ratnam is highly upset with these reports only. Sources close the director say that he is shocked to know the rumors that he had asked Abhishek that he is not happy with some portions of the film and wanted to re-shoot them.
It seems these rumors had actually come to light because Mani Ratnam had delayed the shooting of Ravana in the forest area of Kerala, which has lead to the postponement of the date of the release of the film.
Sources close to the director now point out that the delay in shooting in Kerela’s forests was primarily due to the time taken by Mani Ratnam to recover after his recent heart attack and the non-availability of the permission from the government to shoot in those forests and had nothing to do with Abhishek.
It is now alleged that the rumors of Mani Ratnam not being happy with Abhishek were spread by an upcoming actor just to gain some cheap publicity.
But, now since Mani Ratnam has made his stand clear, he can now leave the entire controversy behind him and get back to completing the shooting of the film.
