Konkana Sen Sharma will be seen in a few light-hearted films and comedies this year.
In total contrast to her screen image ever since she started her acting career, Bollywood star Konkana Sen Sharma will be a part of a few light-hearted films this year.
You may recall that from the time she came into focus with her powerful performance in Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, Konkana is being known for portraying more serious kind of characters.
But, all that is probably going to change now with the soon to be released Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, in which Konkana is trying her hand at comedy. Apart from this film, Konkana will also be a part of a Bengali movie in 2010, which too will be a light-hearted film.
Like any other actor, Konkana is also happy that with these comedies, she will get a chance to try her hand at different kind of roles.
Konkana feels it is unfortunate that she has been typecast as a serious actor after she signed a few off-beat films. She says, “They come to me with scripts and expect me to take up anything that they label as art film. While I fully support the cause of small budget films and experimental ideas, I can’t do only such films and need something to excite me.”
Konkana says that she wants to do all kind of roles. Like for example, though, she recently tried her hand at a romantic film with Wake Up Sid, she hopes someone gives her an opportunity to be a part of pure romantic film and she can do a role similar to Naseeruddin Shah’s character in Ishqiya.
You will get to see a totally different Konkana as she is seen in a few light-hearted films and comedies this year. Hopefully her fans will appreciate her in such roles in the same way as they have appreciated her in more serious roles and after successfully trying her hand at comedy, she will get to do different kind of characters in years to come.
