Whether its films or the stars, Bollywood is related more with gossip news and are not with anything serious happening in this world. But once, for a change, the Hindi film industry has taken up a serious issue and taken up a firm stand on it.
After Amitabh Bachchan led the protest against Australia, following the recent attack on students of Indian origin in that country, many more Bollywood celebrities have joined him in criticizing these assaults.
The first, apart from Mr. Bachchan, who expressed his aguish over the incident, was Aamir Khan, who just like Mr. Bachchan used a post on his blog to criticize the attack on Indian students in Australia.
With many more Bollywood celebrities joining in, it seems the Hindi film industry is now getting ready for a total boycott of that country.
Disturbed by the development, Director Madhur Bhandarkar said, with no safely measures in place, he wouldn’t want to risk anyone’s life by shooting in Australia. He said it is upon the authorities in Australia to do the needful to win back the trust of Indians.
As per Director David Dhavan, with racist attacks taking place in the country, leaving alone shooting, he wouldn’t even like to go for a holiday in Australia.
Subhash Ghai too made it clear that until and unless due respect is given to Indians in the country, he will not shoot for any of his films in Australia.
Satish Kaushik said that whereas nature wise, Australia is a beautiful country, the people of the country don’t seem to be all that beautiful.
So, with people of the country being responsible for it, it seems we are not going to see Australia in Bollywood for at least some time now.
