no press reviews for housefull

by admin on May 2, 2010

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala did not have press screening of Housefull.

Are you as a producer of films in India scared of negative publicity that your film may get from the press and wants to avoid it so that your film is not adversely affected due to this reason? Then you must follow the footsteps of producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The producer of just released film Housefull did not show the film to people from the press because he wanted to avoid any negative comments from the press.

Speaking about the issue, the producer said, "When my last film Kambakkht Ishq was released, the reviews were up on a day before, on Thursday and most of them criticized my film. This did not do my film any good. Now with Twitter, where comments are spread faster than viruses on the computer, it can do a lot of harm to the film. It may sound arrogant but I’m not holding press shows because my film can’t afford the criticism it brings with it."

Sajid Nadiadwala said his film is for the masses and let the critics watch the film with the masses only.

Sajid has personally called up many media persons to explain his position to them. He hoped that since they are all his close friends, they will understand his position.

Interestingly, the decision by Sajid Nadiadwala to not show the film to the critics may be a well calculated decision. Since both producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Sajid Khan have been very critical of the film critics in recent times, they were apprehensive of not getting good reviews and therefore did not feel the need to show the film to the critics.

Though, producer Sajid Nadiadwala did not have press screening of Housefull, the film has had enough publicity. Sajid now wants to take advantage of this situation and not let his film get affected by negative publicity, which may come from press reviews.
