Amitabh Bachchan
Amitabh Bachchan has undergone back-to-back surgeries for hernia last week. Hospital sources said, “He was supposed to undergo second surgery as he had developed pain post the first surgery. However, there is no hassle as such…he is not critical but under observation.”
Amitabh Bachchan is quite active on social media such as twitter and blog. He is continuously updating about his condition on his blog and twitter. He wrote on his twitter account, “Some more tests… more unpronounceable medication… and… another visit to the OT… operation theatre! Going to be a long stay. I refrain from giving greater details of my condition…in the West patient has the right to not disclose – even to family!!”
A leading English daily quoted about Amitabh Bachchan’s medical condition, “He has developed hematoma in the site of the previous surgery, and this surgery will be required to drain the clot. In several cases, the mesh (patch) that is used to repair the hernia gives rise to this complication. Mesh is, after all, a foreign body and may not be accepted well.”
Amitabh Bachchan wrote about his medical condition on his blog, “The night started off with great apprehensions, what with the temperature of the fever going up – always a dangerous signal. But the mercury fell during the night…by the morning there was a freshness and hope of repair. Soon after wards though, the additional pain that has developed in the abdomen, apart from the surgical, kept doctors busy and going into a huddle.”
Amitabh Bachchan keeps his fans updated about the developments at the hospital. He wrote once again, “Heavy dosages of even more antibiotics were pumped in, and to facilitate this operation they had to wheel me in to the OT again to put a ‘central line’, through an incision on the neck…Procedure over, tubes and tapes being attached.”
If Amitabh Bachchan undergoes surgery again, it will be his fifth surgery. Amitabh Bachchan was hurt greviously in 1982 on the sets of Coolie. He was quite critical at that time and remained in hospital for many months. At that time, entire country was anxious for Amitabh Bachchan’s well being and prayed for him.
