Ranbir Kapoor wants to revive the prestigious R K Films banner.
In times when all big Bollywood stars are starting their own banners to produce films, even the latest sensation of the industry Ranbir Kapoor was interested in going on the same lines. There were rumors in the industry that both the latest big stars of Hindi Film Industry Imran Khan and Ranbir are in consultation with each-other in this regard and are planning to set-up a production house to make films together.
But, it now seems that Ranbir has realized, he does not need to set-up a new banner to make films since he already has an established banner to fulfill his wish – The prestigious R K Films banner.
If reports are to be believed Ranbir Kapoor is contemplating upon reviving the R K banner, which was set-up by his grandfather Raj Kapoor in 1940’s and is known for making many good films over the years.
Ranbir is said to be in consultation with his uncle Randhir Kapoor to re-launch R K Films. Though, Prem Granth and Aa Ab Laut Chalein, the last two films produced under the banner almost 10 years back were the product of Rajiv and Rishi Kapoor respectively, the two younger sons of Raj Kapoor, it is Randhir, the eldest son of the late showman, who is most keen on reviving the banner.
Randhir had even spoken to his younger daughter Kareena asking her help to revive the banner by being a part of a film, he wanted to make. But, Kareena allegedly refused saying she did not have the dates. It was quite natural then that Randhir was the first to get excited at the idea of reviving the banner when Ranbir put the idea forward. When asked about it, Randhir confirmed the reports saying, “We are working on the details. We have met a few people and the announcement to make a film under R K Films will be made very soon.”
If fact, the sources say that Ranbir’s wish to revive the prestigious R K Films banner may become a reality sooner than you can imagine. The Kapoor family has already chosen a script for the film they want to make and the film with Ranbir in the lead role will start soon.
