You may have heard, seen or read about some people who are called journalist but what is this term called ‘Honest Journalist’? One person, who seems to have never seen any such creature on this planet is actor Ritesh Deshmukh.
Sources close to the actor point out that the actor was very confused when producer director Ram Gopal Verma approached him with a role of an honest journalist for his upcoming film related to media Rann.
Speaking about this character in the film Rann, Ritesh said that when Verma narrated this particular role of an honest, sincere and fair journalist to him, his first reaction was, ‘I hope this is not a fictitious character’.
Ritesh said that though he is aware that many journalists take up social causes and help people to seek justice, there are others who sensationalize issues just to gain some easy popularity. He added that he raised the issue with the director because he was not sure how real his character in the film was and wanted to confirm the same with the director.
You may recall that Ritesh is the son of former Chief Minister of Maharshtra Vilasrao Deshmukh and has seen his father deal with journalist and media persons from a very young age. And now, being a Bollywood star Ritesh himself deals with journalists on a daily basis.
But whether it is a genuine concern or an anger towards those who forced his father to resign as Maharashtra Chief Minister last year, Ritesh should try to mind his words before taking on the powerful journalist community. It will only distract him from his real career i.e. movies.
