Salman Khan
Salman Khan, who hasn’t had very cordial relation with Shahrukh Khan of late, is getting ready to take the undeclared war between the two to a totally new level. Reports suggest that Salman has asked the producers of his much talked about film Veer, that they should ensure that the film releases the very same day when the much awaited Shahrukh Khan Kajol starrer My Name Is Khan hits the silver screen.
Salman, who hasn’t had a very good relation with Shahrukh Khan of late feels that if Veer does well at the Box Office, he will be able to prove to the world that unlike what the media and film lovers have projected, Salman is as big star as Shahrukh and his films have the same capacity to draw audiences to the Cinema halls as Shahrukh’s. You may recall that Salman is said to be extremely upset when some reports suggested that by accepting secondary roles to Shahrukh Khan in couple of films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Salman has conceded to the fact that Shahrukh Khan is a bigger star than him.
You may feel that Salman is taking a risk but if you have a serious look at it, his plan may just work. You may recall that two big films Sunny Doel’s Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Aamir Kkan starrer Lagaan were released on the same day in 2001 and both did extremely well at the Box Office. In the same way, Salman must be hoping that releasing Veer with My Name Is Khan may just help it get good publicity and that would help the film do well.
But along side Salman would also be extremely anxious. Because unlike Shahrukh, Salman has had a series of flops in recent past and if by chance Veer fails to impress the cinema lovers, Salman may have a lot to think about.
